Made of sustainable wool fibers with plush texture. This is a delightful and colorful addition to your wall. Each Roving Ring™ is unique in the way the fibers slightly felt together. They are versatile in appearance by adjusting the fibers towards the center to remove the opening, or outward to show the symbolism of a ring. This fiber wall art is lightweight and easy to hang on a single nail.
With fibers spread outward: Diameter is approximately 11 inches with 3-inch depth.
With fibers condensed inward: Diameter is approximately 8 inches with 4-inch depth.
The origin of the Roving Ring™ stemmed from my desire to make circular works and wanting to make more affordable pieces for everyone to enjoy. At the time, I was revisiting the idea of making more mobiles and structural forms I could use for lighting. I was experimenting with different materials and colors. Then I had the opportunity to sell my work in person at an art festival. I wanted to make smaller pieces that were fun and affordable. An idea popped, I jumped in, and thought, “Wow, I love this.” It’s simple but playful, and it brings me joy to make them.
